CHERNOBYL-3
April 26th 2011 will be the 25th anniversary of the explosion of the nuclear reactor at the Chernobyl power plant in the former USSR. The radioactive fallout of April 1986 affected all countries in Europe. Therefore, Chernobyl had been the first time that the transnational threat brought about by technological failure had come true. Chernobyl caused “an anthropological shock” and became a popular metaphor for global environmental catastrophes and other social traumas.
